Ideas | Multi-Passionate | Creative Coaching

I intentionally block off a couple of hours after my coaching calls with my clients to give space for inspiration to come through. Something that we spoke about on one of our coaching calls recently is the concept of connecting with your ideas, even if you’re not able to act on them today. I know it sounds a little weird, but it’s a key concept for multi-passionates, multipotentialites, and all other flavors of creative folks to understand.

Are you connecting with your ideas?

Having a lot of ideas is like having more than one child. You love them all equally, but in order for them to know that they’re each loved, nurtured, and safe with you, quality time is necessary.

Instead of feeling down about the fact that not every single one of your ideas is going to come to pass TODAY, how can you show your ideas that you love them and are grateful for them? How can you show them that they’re safe with you?

Let’s explore 3 ways to connect with your ideas

Having a lot of ideas is like having more than one child. You love them all equally, but in order for them to know that they're each loved, nurtured, and safe with you, quality time is necessary.

1. Take your ideas out on a date

Pick out a cute outfit, spritz on your fave scent, choose a location that makes you feel giddy inside, and take your ideas on a date. Sit across from them at the dinner table, enjoy a sunset at the beach, or go for a romantic stroll as you connect with your own brilliance.

2. Write your ideas a thank you letter

Sit down and write a thank you letter to your ideas. Thank them for choosing you. Thank them for revealing new parts of YOU to yourself. And thank them for their understanding as they wait for you to have the bandwidth to bring them forward fully. While you’re at it, feel free to ask them any questions they have. If you’re feeling extra cheeky- have your ideas “write back” through you.

3. Let your ideas know they’re safe with you

As always, I empower you to create your own version of connecting with your ideas. How can you let them know that they’re safe with you? What feels like a practice that would be nourishing for you? A great place to start is to think about your own Love Language and what that can translate to when it comes to connecting with your ideas.

Your ideas are not here to be a source of confusion or overwhelm. They’re your own brilliance reflected back to you. Connecting with them more intentionally will help you to root into that knowing.

I hope these 3 tips inspire you to give this practice a try!
