For every multi-passionate creative business owner, there comes a moment where it’s time to burn it all down and start fresh. And for me, that moment is today.
The Evolution of my Creative Business
Let’s go back to the beginning. My creative business started as a passion project in the form of the Joi Knows How Blog. I started my blog because I was tired of feeling like there wasn’t a space online dedicated to multi-passionates. Everywhere I looked, experts were saying “you have to niche down and choose one thing in order to be successful.” Starting my blog was my way of rebelling against that and creating a safe haven to be ALL of myself, and it was the best decision ever.
From my blog came the desire to not only express me and my passions but to help multi-passionates from all walks of life embrace their talents as a gift, not a burden. That’s when I stepped into my role as an educator. It’s been a messy, start-before-you’re-ready, “get out there and make an impact,” journey since then.
My number one goal has been to get my work out into the world and position myself as a thought-leader in the multi-passionate space. Looking at my large roster of podcast guest features and the level of mentorship I’m able to provide to my group coaching clients, I absolutely feel successful in that regard. What has emerged since then is a high-level view of where I see my business going, and the business model that is going to be the most sustainable for my energetic output.
Enter: Digital products, courses, group coaching, an upcoming podcast, blog re-vamp, and some exciting affiliate partnerships in the mix. That’s where the evolution of my creative biz has taken me.
Burning it All Down
That being said- it’s taken me some time to settle on the best way to deliver this content to you. In the more scrappy phase of business building, streamlining my systems wasn’t a huge priority. But now that I’ve begun to shift my priorities, I’m burning it all down, and re-building my digital content empire brick by brick.
This is arguably the most exciting point in my business since I started my blog and I can’t wait for you to experience all that’s in store for you! (If you’ve heard about the launch of my new e-book, then you’re already getting a taste of what’s to come.)
But next-leveling also means that my beloved free content is officially getting locked away and will only be available as a bonus to my other offerings. So, you may have ended up here due to an “error 404” page, or other broken links, and you know what? I’m totally fine with that.
Too often leaders in the online business space come to us polished to perfection with a perfectly organized Kajabi, a pristine email funnel, and an immaculately produced podcast. What we don’t see are all the unlisted YouTube videos, outdated PDFs, and broken funnels that got them there.
I’m grateful to be able to offer a refreshing perspective: there might come a time where you’ve got to burn it all down and start fresh in order to transcend into the next level of your creative business. And that is absolutely okay.
I can’t wait to reveal all that’s to come so that you can be a part of the glow-up coming, because as I elevate my content, I’m bringing you with me. Buckle up, my love. It’s go time.
